How About Some Horsetail with Your Collagen to help with those joint pains? 10/27/2022

Collagen is a substance we usually associate with those who want their skin to stay young looking. And, while that's a good thing to do, but for those of us with Morgellons it's a luxury and something to put on our wish list for when we get our lives back.

But hold on. Collagen is not only a substance that helps with keeping our skin young and elastic, but is ESSENTIAL for our joint health and Morgellons wipes out our collagen stores. Remember the filaments of Morgellons are comprised of collagen and keratin. Read recent blog post "Did You Know Morgellons Wipes Out Your Collagen," 8/21/22

"The musculoskeletal system is made up of the skeleton, muscles, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, joints, and other connective tissue that supports and holds tissues and organs together. Collagen helps to construct the infrastructure of the musculoskeletal system, which provides your body with form, support, stability, and movement.

Ligaments are a type of connective tissue that attach two bones to each other and hold your joints together. Similarly, tendons are another type of connective tissue that keeps your muscles attached to your bones. All of these – bones, ligaments, tendons, and muscles – are made up of proteins. Once again, their predominant protein component is collagen."

So, those aches and pains in the your joints can be partially, if not totally, attributed to depletion of collagen.

But, just taking any collagen supplement is not the answer.
From Silica and Collagen: A vital Partnership for Skin Health, "Silica is another substance the body needs for creating collagen. Silica naturally occurs in numerous places in nature including many plant foods (e.g., bananas, oats, leafy green veggies, potatoes), rocks (e.g., quartz & sand), and plants such as horsetail." And the Organixx Collagen supplement that I highly recommend has horsetail (a source of silica). Note that most collagen supplements only have two types of collagen whereas Organixx Collagen has five types of Collagen.
